Professional background and experience:

Danie is an experienced attorney and CEDR-accredited mediator, also trained by Conflict Dynamics and the Centre on Conflict & Collaboration (formerly Africa Centre for Dispute Settlement). With over three decades of legal practice, he brings an exceptional depth of insight into litigation, mediation, and dispute resolution. After a 31-year partnership at Lindsay Keller Attorneys - 10 of which he served as Managing Partner and 12 as senior partner -  Danie transitioned into legal consulting for various firms and corporate clients. He currently practices at Joubert Weideman Attorneys, based in Northcliff, Johannesburg.

Over the years, Danie has had numerous reported decisions and has acted as a judge in the High Court. He serves on the Legal Practice Council’s disciplinary and appeals committees and has been a director of the South African Medico-Legal Association (SAMLA).

He has conducted numerous mediations, including complex matters involving the Gauteng Department of Health. Danie is passionate about legal education and has lectured for institutions and organisations, including the Road Accident Fund, The Pan African Bar Association of South Africa (PABASA), Conflict Dynamics, Funda Academy, Mediation in Motion Mediators (MiMM), and various insurance companies. He also delivers specialised training to medico-legal experts in personal injury litigation.

Danie holds B.Com and LLB degrees from the University of Johannesburg, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Law (cum laude) from the same institution.
