Professional background and experience: Nomonde is an accredited commercial mediator with Conflict Dynamics, the Centre for Effective Resolution of Disputes (CEDR, UK) and the South African Dispute Settlement Accreditation Council (DiSAC). Nomonde is also an accredited divorce and family mediator with the National Accreditation Board for Family Mediators (NABFAM). She specializes in mediating a range of disputes, including those in commercial, workplace, family, and community settings, including regulated community residential schemes. In these contexts, she applies her unique mediation style alongside her adept adjudication skills. As a member of the training faculty at Conflict Dynamics, Nomonde leverages her mediation experience to fulfil her role as a trainer and coach, where her clients have commended her for her professionalism and expertise in mediating and assessing mediators. |
Nomonde holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (cum laude), a Bachelor of Art Honours in Psychology and a Master of Philosophy in Conflict and Conflict Management. Her thesis, which received honours, focused on role conflict in the South African public service. Recently, she published the first edition of her book titled "A Case for Mediation: A Dispute Resolution Alternative That Drastically Reduces Time & Legal Costs Whilst Saving Relationships." Mediation experience and style: Nomonde is an active mediator on the pro-bono court-annexed mediation services at the Wynberg Magistrate's Court. Additionally, she is engaged in mediating and adjudicating disputes within regulated community residential schemes, including sectional titles and home-owners associations. Notably, Nomonde was enlisted by the World Bank Ombuds Office to mediate a dispute between a community and a mining company in South Africa. Her expertise also extends to mediating workplace disputes.
