Andrew is a community and church-based consultant, who has worked in a wide variety of communities for the past nearly 40 years.
Since matriculation and university, he has spent his working life in the full-time ordained ministry of the Anglican Church. This has taken him to communities all over the Western Cape as well as to Makhanda (Grahamstown) and the Eastern Cape.
Andrew has had the privilege of working in a number of different communities: Edgemead, Bothasig, Robertson, Ashton, Mbekweni, Kaya Mandi, Mfuleni, Lwandle, Bonteheuwel; Hout Bay, Grahamstown, and latterly in the southern suburbs of Cape Town.
Andrew has lived in the townships of Mbekweni and Bonteheuwel, as well as in Bothasig, Hout Bay and Grahamstown. This experience has given him insight into and understanding of a wide range of political, cultural, community, church and family dynamics.
In the course of nearly forty years of full-time ordained ministry, he has had to mediate in a number of conflict situations. These have included inter-personal conflicts, family conflicts, inter-group conflicts, and wider community conflicts.
Andrew is reasonably bilingual (English and Afrikaans), but is most comfortable in English.
Andrew is happy to travel and is comfortable with virtual meetings, as well as face-to-face.
Andrew is a graduate of UCT (BA Hons), UWC (MTh), St Paul’s (DipTh), Cardiff (LLM), and NMU (PhD). He is a Conflict Dynamics Accredited Mediator.
