After graduating with a BA LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1990, Imraan worked at the Legal Resources Centre (LRC) as a fellow and candidate attorney from 1991 to 1994. As an admitted attorney since 1994, Imraan practised for his own account, briefly at Bell Dewar & Hall (now Fasken), and at Routledge Modise Attorneys (now Hogan Lovells) as a director. He has been a partner at Haffegee Roskam Savage Attorneys since 2009. He appears in the labour court, in arbitrations and disciplinary hearings. In addition to being a CEDR (UK) accredited commercial mediator, he is an experienced mediator, arbitrator, trainer and facilitator and voluntarily mediates domestic violence disputes at the Wynberg Magistrate's Court.
